Start with WHY...

Hope all is well and you are smashing your fitness goals and working daily to a healthier, happier life. I realise that you must have happened upon me in the wide expanse of the internet and not really know much about who I am or what I am hoping to achieve by getting your attention online. Lets start with... Why? In 2015 I was working as a paramedic on the streets of London and repeatedly coming across guys in there 50’s and 60’s that seemed like great guys but had lost, or almost lost, the battle for good health. Overweight and out of shape they would sit on the ambulance and rationalise why they had spent their 30’s and 40’s making really crappy decisions about their health. The conversation would inevitably go," I was just doing the normal stuff, you know, few beers and a few curries….I used to be fit and play football ……not really sure how this has happened…..crept up on me really…." I could go on… For me this was heart breaking as there was a look in their eyes that spoke of an understanding that their health outlook and trajectory was not good at all. It was also hard for me to get my head around because, up until this point I did not have the awareness of how the healthcare system and modern medicine can only really treat symptoms and does a poor job of getting at the core of the problem. On top of that my own health and fitness where in a precarious place, to many night shifts and late-night McDonald’s runs had left me low on energy and with zero motivation to train or move. This story and process pushed me to take a long hard look at what I was doing, having left a well-paid job in London to help people. Was I really adding long term impact to peoples lives, maybe, but could I do more? What is your story? What is your health trajectory? ......Does it need to change?
